يحاول هذا الكتاب أن يكون بياناً ولكن ذلك لا يلزم إلا كاتبه، وهو بذلك مدين بالكثير بلا شك إلى كل أولئك الذين يتطلعون مثله إلى بناء مشروع أنثروبولوجية العوالم المعاصرة يتصورنها بطريقة هجومية، لا كموقف تراجع لأولئك الذين أحبطتهم الغرابية (exotisme)، منهم على وجه الخصوص مارك إبِلاس Marc Abélès، جيرار ألطاب Gérard Althabe، جان بازان Jean Bazin، ألبان بانسا Alban Bensa، جان بول كُلاين Jean - Paul Colleyn، جان يمين Jean Jamin، ميشال دي لابراديل Michèle de La Pradelle إمّنويل تيراي Emmanuel Terray، وإلى الذين من داخل الإختصاص مثل فرانسواز هيريتي Françoise Héritier، أو من خارجه مثل فيرناندو جيل Fernado Gil ودونيس لومبار Denys Lombard، قدموا له إسهاماتهم من خلال نظرة مطّلعة ونقدية وخيرة.
لكن التعاليق المقترحة والتحاليل الإفتتاحية المقدمة، والمفاهيم أو المصطلحات التي تعرض هنا لم تكن موضوع نقاش جماعي بالمعنى التام للعبارة، وعليه لا يمكنها أن تدعي تلخيص أو مصادرة الطرائق الشخصية والأصيلة إجمالاً للبعض والبعض الآخر.
إنّ الغاية من هذا الكتاب إذاً هي الإسهام في مجهود مشترك لكنه متنوع بتنوع موضوعه، لقد طفنا بكل شيء، بالعالم والأفكار، وكان من الواجب بالنسبة للبعض أن تغري حوريات البحر المحررة من السحر عالم الإنثولوجيا في طريق عودته، لكنه طريق بلا رجوع، تقتضي مفارقة اليوم أن غياب معنى المعنى يقتضي مثلما يتطلب كل توحيد شكل الإختلاف.
ففي هذه اللعبة المعقدة من الأسئلة والأجوبة يجد عالم الأنثروبولوجيا اليوم مواضيعه الفكرية الجديدة، فهو لم ينساها من ورائه عندما ذهب الملقاة أراض بعيدة يكتشفها يوم يلاحظ لأول مرة في تاريخ الإنسانية أن الأرض دائرية حقاً.
