قال تعالى: (إن الصفا والمروة من شعائر الله) وقال تعالى أيضاً: (ومن يعظم شعائر الله فإنها من تقوى القلوب..). يعلم من الآيتين الشريفتين إن تعظيم آيات الله وسيلة لتقوية القلوب، ولذا فإن المقامات التي عمرها الأنبياء عليهم السلام أو العمارة التي أنشئت على قبر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أو على قبور ذرية النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وعلى أهل بيته عليهم السلام فتعظيم هذه الأمكنة المقدسة هو أيضاً سبب لتقوية القلوب، إن المؤلف فكر بأن التعمير والبناء من شعائر الله والباني لهذه التعميرات هو تعظيم لها فقان بكتابة هذا الكتاب مع ذكر التأريخ الميلادي والهجري لبناية المقامات وهدمها مع حوادث الزمن التي برزت فهيا هذه العمارات والمباني فقدم أمام المجتمع لغرض الاستفادة والتعريف بالمراقد المقدسة.
