هذا الكتاب فريد في بابه، يهتم بالتأريخ لمنطقة عاملة من جبل عامل من الفتح الإسلامي إلى السيطرة العثمانية، وذلك بسبعة فصول، توزعت مادتها بحسب العصور المتعاقبة في فترة الدراسة، فتحدث عن عامله في العصر الجاهلي، وصدر الإسلام، والعصر الأيوبي والعباسي والفاطمي، والصليبي والمملوكي، فصور حياة سكان عاملة، تراثهم، آثارهم، أهم رجالات هذه القبيلة، وذلك بعد أن عرف بقبيلة عاملة وبأصل سكانها وفي هذا يقول: "في القرن الثاني قبل ميلاد السيد المسيح عليه السلام، أي ما بين عامي 145 و115ق.م.، إنهار سدّ مأرب في اليمن، وانهارت معه-بالتالي-الحضارة السبئية، ما أدّى إلى هجرة جماعية للقبائل العربية باتجاهات مختلفة... هذا ويعود نسب قبلة عاملة إلى سبأ بن يشجب بن يعرب بن قحطان".
