بدأنا الكتاب بمقدمات تمهيدية، لنبين: "هل الفراسة علم صحيح؟" و"هل هي تصدق دائمًا؟" و"هل تحتاج إلى قريحة خاصة؟".
ثم ذكرنا تعليل الفراسة، وشرحنا بعد ذلك قانون التشابه، وقانون التنسب ثم خلصنا من ذلك إلى باب "فراسة الأمزجة" وعمدنا بعدئذ إلى تفصيل فراسة الأعضاء ولما فرغنا من فراسة أعضاء الإنسان ودلالة كل منها على أخلاق صاحبه، انتقلنا إلى بحث فراسة الأمم، فذكرنا أصناف الناس، ومميزات كل صنف منهم، وتطرفنا إلى البحث في الأمم على اختلاف أماكنها وممالكها، وفراسة كل أمة على حدة، وبينا ما اختصت به كل منها من الأخلاق والأطوار. ثم أتينا على خلاصة علم من أهم علوم الفراسة هو علم "الفرينولوجيا" أو فراسة الرأس، الذي يدل على أخلاق الناس وقواهم من النظر إلى أشكال رؤوسهم وما فيها من الارتفاع أو الانخفاض أو السعة والضيق. وتحدثنا بعد ذلك عن فراسة المهن والصناعات المختلفة وبعد أن شرحنا فراسة البشر على اختلاف فروعها تكلمنا عن فراسة الحيوانات، وأوضحنا كل ما تقدم من الأبواب والفصول بعدة رسوم، وبذلك جاء كتابنا هذا فريدًا في بابه، وعسى أن يلقى استحسان القراء.
