كانت الأمة العربية وسطاً عدلاً بين الناس تلقي القرآن الكريم من لدن حكيم عليم، تدعو إلى سبيل ربها بالحكمة والموعظة الحسنة وترد عدوان الظالمين، حين أذن الله تعالى لها أن تقاتل في سبيله بقوة وغلظة، وتعذيب ما زاد أولئك الأعداء عتواً ونفوراً.
وقد تميز الفتح في العهد الأموي بالإندفاع القومي والإنسياح في الديار وعمران الأمصار، حتى أضحى وجه الأرض عربياً، وعاد بعد الذلة ابيا.
وأخذ المشرق سهمه في الرواية والذكر وقصص البطولات، وتكدرت منه بعض الأيام النحسات، ولكنه ما برح لأكثر إثارة والأشهر حديثاً.
وتجلى المغرب بالعزمات، وتنوع بالإندفاعات القبلية، وهي تنفر في سبيل الله عزّ وجلّ مجاهدة ومجالدة أو مرتبطة بالثغور أو متصلة بأسباب الحكم والإدارة.
وتعرض المنطقة العربية اليوم إلى هجمة صليبية جديدة، وقد تختلف في وسائلها وطرقها، ولكن تتشابه في غاياتها وأهدافها، على الرغم من إختلاف الزمان، لذا حري بنا أن نضع هذه البحوث في الأندلس إسهاماً منا في إيقاظ الروح الإسلامية لدى شباب الأمة العربية في تحمل مسؤولياتها الجهادية ضد الصليبين الغزاة الجدد الذي يستهدفون الإسلام والمسلمون، وما أشبه اليوم بالأمس، ونحن نعيش الأوضاع الراهنة اليوم ذاتها في المنطقة العربية.
وتظهر قيمة التاريخ في إستناده المباشر إلى الوقائع التي يضيفها الإنسان والأحداث الطارئة، والمبادرة في إستنطاق مدى قدرته للتفاعل مع المتغيرات حيث تبرز المعطيات الأساسية في توجيه طموحات الإنسان وإمكاناته نحو إستيعاب هذه الظاهرة المتغيرة، على أمل إستيعاب الحاضر وإدراك معطياته، لا بد أن يقدما لنظرة العلمية الجادة والدقيقة لإستيعاب المشاكل والمخاطر المحيطة، هذا مع الأخذ بنظر الإعتبار أن الماضي يعد شرطاً أساساً لإدراك الحاضر، فالتاريخ ليس أحداثاً تكتب بل هي إحداث لا يمكن لها أن تعود وتنكر بذات القدر والمستوى، وعلى هذا لا بد من التطلع إلى الإدراك وجعله في صميم الوعي المفكر حيث الملاذ لإستشراق المستقبل الآتي دون ريب.
