يتناول هذا الكتاب الرسالة الكاملية في السيرة النبوية لــ"علاء الدين علي بن أي الحرم القرشي" (ابن النفيس) الذي كان قصده من هذه الرسالة إقتصاص ما ذكره "فاضل بن ناطق" عن الرجل المسمى بكامل فيما يتعلق بالسيرة النبوية والسنن الشرعية على طريق الإجمال ملتزماً تارك الإسهاب ومعرضاً عن الإغماض وموضحاً للمطالب بقدر الإمكان وعلى الوجه اللائق بحجم هذا الكتاب ومرتباً فيه كلامي (ع ص 2 و) على أربعة فنون: الفن الأول: في كيفية تكون هذا الإنسان المسمى بكامل وكيفية وصوله إلى تعرف العلوم والنبوات، وتناول ذلك في ثلاثة فصول؛ الفن الثاني: في كيفية وصوله إلى تعرف السيرة النبوية، واشتمل هذا الفن على عشرة فصول؛ الفن الثالث: في كيفية وصوله إلى تعرف السنّن الشرعية؛ ويشتمل هذا الفن على بابين: الباب الأول فيما يأتي به هذا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من التكاليف العلمية، الباب الثاني فيما يأتي به هذا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من التكاليف العملية؛ الفن الرابع: في كيفية وصوله إلى معرفة الحوادث التي تكون بعد وفاة خاتم النبيين صلوات الله وسلامه عليه وعليهم أجمعين، ويشتمل على عشرة فصول.
