تتميز هذه الدراسة في أنها فن أوسع الدراسات التي تتناول "إئتلافات حقوق الطفل" في العالم العربي. الباحثتان تدرسان تطور مفهوم الائتلاف غير الحكومي، أثره على تطبيق اتفاقية حقوق الطفل، وهنا تبحثان حال الائتلافات في خمسة بلدان عربية: مصر وفلسطين ولبنان والأردن واليمن. وهي الأولى في دراسة أثر أهم "دليل" حتى الآن للتدريب على حقوق الطفل.
كما وتكتسب هذه الدراسة أهمية خاصة تبرز من كونها قد عرضت قبل نشرها، على ورشة عمل إقليمية حيث نقّح المشاركون الدراسة كل وتشاركوا الخبرات والتحديات، وخرجوا بتوصيات محددة لتطوير "الدليل" وتلبية حاجات جديدة من قدرات التدريب ومواده. وتوقف المشاركون على التحديات الكثيرة التي تواجه مفهوم "الائتلاف" فى المجتمعات العربية، والتي تعود في معظمها إلى ضعف "ثقافة التشبيك" وممارساته، وغلى ضعف دور المجتمع المدني، وخرجوا بتوصيات محددة.
تشمل محتويات هذا الكتاب: نص الدراسة الكامل، وأهم نتائج اللقاء الأهلي الإقليمي الذي تلقاها.
