إذا ما اقترب موعد القمر فإن الأرملة التى فقدت زوجها تفعل كما تفعل غيرها من النساء, تستحم وتنظف جسمها وتزيل منه الشعر, وتدهنه بالزيوت العطرية, وتطلق البخور فى الكوخ, فوق قبر زوجها, ترقص رقصا عنيفا وتصيح تنادى زوجها الذى يرقد ميتا فى المقبرة, عندما تصبح صيحاتها أعلى ويصير رقصها أكثر عنفا يأخذ زوجها الميت فى التململ داخل المقبرة, وترتج الأرض تحت قدميها, فيعلو صياحها ويشتد رقصها, ثم يشق الميت المقبرة ويخرج منها واقفا, لاتسعها الدنيا من الفرحة وينتابها سرور أسطورى, فتأخذه من يده ويندمجان فى الرقص, رقصة القمر التى كان يشاركها إياها أثناء حياته.
