عنى المسلمون بجمع الأحاديث والروايات التي تتعلق بالجوانب الفقهية لكن أحداً لم يهتم بجمع وترتيب الروايات والأحاديث التي تتعلق بالجوانب الفكرية والأخلاقية والاجتماعية وقد انبرى الكاتب لتحقيق ذلك وجعلها في متناول الباحثين فجمع أحاديث الرسول وأهل بيته ونسقها بعد أن راجع كل الروايات التي نقلها صاحب كتاب "بحار الأنوار" فرتبها ترتيباً أبجدياً وحذف الروايات المتكررة، وتدارك ما أهملاه مؤلف بحار الأنوار بالرجوع إلى المصادر الأصلية المتوفرة كما استفاد مما ذكرته كتب أهل السنة وأضاف ما نقلته هذه الكتب من الأحاديث المتصلة بالقضايا المطروحة.
وقد أراد المؤلف لكتابه هذا أن يكون المنطلق لتأليف موسوعة كبرى تشتمل على الأحاديث التي تفي بمتطلبات زماننا هذا، والطبقة الحالية المعروضة اليوم قد خضعت للتنقيح والتصحيح، كما تمت مقابلة الأحاديث الواردة فيها مع المصادر الأصلية تم أيضاً تلافي الخطأ الترقيمي الذي كان حاصلاً في الطبقة السابقة، واستبدلت بعض الأحاديث التي لا تتطابق مع مدلول العناوين بأحاديث أخرى.
