"يتنهد ويئنّ، ينادي بصوت مرتجف، يريد أن تكون الأم بقربه، عن أي امرأة يتحدث؟ هل يريد زوجته تمينة أم الأم الأخرى، أمّه التي لم يتحدث عنها سوى القليل؟ أم يريد الاثنتين؟ تخرج من فمه كلمات هي خليط من البرتغالية والعربية يقول: أريد أن أذهب إلى البيت، أرضي التي في الكورة، بلادي، لماذا هاجرت؟ الهجرة لا تُحسن... يشرد ويهيم...
وفجأة تكون الكلمة الوحيدة التي يلفظها وكان يرددها: غريب، غريب، ويكررها على مسمع كل من جاء ليزوره في الآونة الأخيرة، كان يقولها لأولاده، لأصدقائه، لأقاربه: "مهما حاول المرء وجاهد من أجل أن يتكيّف في بلاد غير بلاده، فإنه يشعر بأنه غريب"، ثم يشعر بالحرج فوراً، فيتراجع خجلاً ويقول: "غريب؟ كيف؟ لا، أليس أحب لي لو كانت هنا بلدتي العزيزة، تلك التي في الكورة؟".
إنها نهاية حكاية يوسف ميغال الذي غادر مع عائلته لبنان سنة 1927، ولم يعد إليه قط، رواها ابنه سليم الكاتب والصحافي البارز الحائز على العديد من الجوائز والذي رافق والده في مغامرة الهجرة من كفر صارون وله من العمر ثلاث سنوات، على غرار أبيه، يحنّ سليم ميغال إلى البدايات، ويكتب قصة هجرة العائلة إلى البرازيل بعد سبع عقوده، ويحرص على ترجمتها إلى العربية ونشرها في لبنان، إنها ساغة أو أسطورة إقتلاع اللبنانيين وحنينهم الدائم إلى أرض الآباء والأجداد.
