لقد كان لي مع أطروحة الباحث الأمريكيّ "توماس فريدريك وليمسون" معايشة طويلة منذ أن عثرت على (مايكروفيلم) لها في المكتبة المركزيّة لجامعة الموصل وأنا في بداية البحث والكتابة عن التاريخ السياسيّ والنسبيّ للتجمع القلبيّ شمّر وأسرة القيادة فيها (آل محمّد الجربا) عام 1988م، وقمت على الفور، وبعد الحصول على نصّ ورقيّ لها، بتقديمها إلى صديقي الدكتور "جوزيف نادر بولص" الأستاذ المصريّ الّذي كان يعمل في جامعة الموصل، فقام بترجمتها ترجمة كاملة دون أيّ تغيير لنصوصها، فأصبحت هذه الترجمة عوناً لي للقيام بتأليف كتاب عن تجمّع شمّر القبليّ وبيت المشيخة فيها (آل محمّد الجربا)، والّذي خرج إلى القرّاء بطبعة لست راضياً عنها، عام 2002م.
بقيت ترجمة "الدكتور جوزيف" لأطروحة الدكتوراه في جامعة إنديانا لوليمسون، الّتي أنجزها عام 1974م، في أدراج المكتبة الخاصّة بي، مع أني كنت قد قدّمت النصّ الإنجليزي من الأطروحة إلى أحد أحفاد الشيخ "عجيل اليارو"...
