الإمام الحافظ الكبير الشهي مسلم بن الحجّاج النيسابوري، أحد كبار أئمة الحديث، ومن أعظم مشاهير حفّاظ السنة النبوية. وهذا الكتاب -وهو السابع والأربعون- في سلسلة "أعلام المسلمين" يجلي جوانب مشرقة من سيرة هذا إمام العظيم، ويعرّف بجوده الكبيرة في الحدث وعلومه، ويخصّ كتابه الفذ "المسند الصحيح" بتحقيقات ومباحث علمية نافعة.
وحسب هذا الإمام فضلاً ورفعةً أن يكون كتابه "الصحيح" مع كتاب شيخه البخاري، من أصح الكتب المصنفة في الحديث، التي عم نفعها، وانتشر ذكرها، وأجمع العلماء على صحتها.
