لقد كان المنهج النسقي سبيلنا في هذا الكتاب، وتوخينا بذلك تجاوز المقاربات التجزيئية، التي تفصل بين الترجمات العربية القديمة لفن الشعر، وبين الأفق المعرفي والأدبي العام الذي نمت فيه هذه الترجمات.
ومن هنا، حاول هذا الكتاب وضع شروح وترجمات الفلاسفة لفن الشعر في إطار منظومتهم المعرفية العامة، التي كشفنا من خلال التحليل عن إستحضارها للقول الشعري في شتى تمظهراتها المنطقية، والنفسية، والإلهية... إلخ.
كما كشفنا عن قدرتها على حل إشكاليات زرع المفاهيم الدرامية في الشعر العربي الغنائي، وحلق توافق بين آليات إشتغال نمطين شعريين متغايرين، ونظامين أخلاقيين كثيراً ما تم وضعهما في إطار علاقة ضدية، على إعتبار أن الشعر اليوناني يحاكي الفضيلة، والشعر العربي يحاكي الرذيلة.
يضاف إلى هذا تبنينا لأسس المقاربات النقدية الحديثة، التي تستبعد كل المقاربات الموضوعية والتطابقية في عمليات الترجمة والتأويل؛ فمناهج التلقي الحديثة تجمع كلها على إستحالة التطابق بين النص وقراءاته في نفس البيئة، وبنفس اللغة، فما بالنا عندما نتحدث عن قراءات عربية لكتاب يوناني، تفصله عن البيئة العربية مسافات كبيرة في الزمان والمكان؟...
والنتيجة أنه لا يجوز أن نقول بأن العرب قد أخطأوا في التأويل، أو أساؤوا ترجمة كتاب فن الشعر فالخطأ والصواب يجب أن ينظر إليهما إنطلاقاً من الأحوال المطيفة، إن استعرنا لغة الفارابي، الذي آمن بنسبية القراءة والفهم، في حين أنكر هذه النسبية كثير من نقادنا ومفكرينا المعاصرين.
