ربما تكون رواية زهرة عباد الشمس من الروايات القلائل التي تناولت فكرة خروج الشخصية من عالمها الروائي المتخيّل إلى أرض الواقع، وإلى أين وفي اتجاه من؟ إلى خالقها الروائي وعلى أرضه. في أسلوب بوليسي مشوّق يلفه الغموض تبدأ الرواية وتنتهي. في مناخ عجائبي غرائبي تتفتح الرواية مثل زهرة عباد شمس. تولد رواية داخل رواية. تنفتح آفاقها بمكالمة هاتفة غريبة سوف تشرّع أبوابها الرعب على مصراعيها في وجه نديم الروائي. كانت تلك المكالمة قد لعبت دور الصّدفة ليتقاطع دربا نديم وعزازير بطل روايته البكر. الأمكنة والأزمنة والشخوص هنا ليست سوى ديكور "الكولوسيوم" الذي يتصارع في ساحته الجبابرة: صراع بيجماليون الرواية مع صنيعة يديه عزازير من أجل السيادة على الرواية. فلمن ستكون الغلبة في الآخر.
