شكلت أحداث عام 2011 نقطة تحول في المنطقة العربية من خلال الهجوم الجيوسياسي الذي قاده الغرب على المنطقة وكان هدفه الأساسي إسقاط سورية، وإعادة إنتاج الأزمة في العراق وصولاً إلى إيران وآسيا الوسطى بإستخدام القوة الناعمة والذكية، وبدعم من دول الخليج العربي وإسرائيل.
كما كان للمنظمات الدولية غير الحكومية دوراً كبيراً في تهيئة البيئة لهذا الهجوم الجيوسياسي "الربيع العربي"، كما استخدمت حرب الأفكار لتفجير حرب طائفية في المنطقة بالتوازي مع الحملات الإعلامية المضللة والحصار السياسي والإقتصادي على دمشق.
في هذا الكتاب يتم إلقاء الضوء على الخلفيات التي سبقت الحرب على سورية، والأدوات المستخدمة في هذه الحرب، والإستراتيجيات الأمريكية خلال مراحل الحرب المختلفة.
كما يتم إلقاء الضوء على دور الدول الإقليمية وبالأخص الدور الهدام لتركيا، والدول الكبرى في هذه الحرب، والتغيرات الجيوسياسية الناتجة عن صعود الدولة السورية، والذي أسس للتدخل الروسي في سبتمر 2015 إلى جانب الحكومة السورية في محاربة الإرهاب.
في الفصل الأخير يتم التركيز على الأبعاد الجيوسياسية للحرب ولمشروع الشرق الأوسط الكبير في المنطقة وفي آسيا الوسطى (حالة قرغيزستان وأوكرانيا) وأسباب إستهداف سورية، إضافة إلى الأبعاد الجيوسياسية والتحديات المستقبلية في رؤية شاملة لمستقبل سورية.
