عرض المؤلف في هذا الكتاب القضايا المتعلقة بالشهادة، كون الشهادة من أهم وسائل الإثبات في القضاء، وقد أورد آراء الفقهاء وخصوصاً الأئمة الأربعة مع عرض لأدلة كل فريق وقام بالمقارنة بين الأدلة والترجيح بين الآراء.
وقد قسم البحث إلى مقدمة وتمهيد وثمانية فصول وملحقين وخاتمة، تحدث في التمهيد عن فضل الشهادة ومكانتها في علم القضاء الإسلامي وصلة الموضوع بالفقه الإسلامي، وجاء الفصل الأول ليتحدث عن التعريف بعلم القضاء وتاريخه وأهميته، والفصل الثاني يتحدث عن التعريف بالشهادة والصيغ التي تؤدي بها، أما الفصل الثالث فخصصه للحديث عن أركان الشهادة، والفصل الرابع اختص بأحكام الشهادة، وورد الفصل الخامس موضحاً مراتب الشهادة، أما الفصل السادس أفرد للحديث عن شروط الشهادة.
وأما الفصل السابع فخصص للحديث عن الرجوع عن الشهادة والآثار المترتبة على ذلك، وجاء الفصل الثامن ليتحدث عن خطورة شهادة الزور وعقوبة شاهد الزور، وجاء الملحق الأول ليبين وسائل الإثبات الحديثة وتضمن الملحق الثاني الكثير من الأحاديث الواردة عن شهادة الزور، والخاتمة لخص فيها المؤلف أهم وأبرز النتائج التي توصل إليها الكتاب.
