هذا الكتاب يحتوي بين دفتيه على سيل هائل من المعلومات الدقيقة والموثقة عن جملة واسعة من العمليات المستورة التي نفذتها الاستخبارات البريطانية على مدى قرابة أربعين سنة ضد شعوب العالم الثالث، من الملايو في جنوب شرق آسيا مروراً بالمحيط الهندي والشرق الأوسط، والقارة الأفريقية، وصولاً إلى إيرلندة الشمالية حتى يومنا هذا.
ويوضح الكتاب التوزع الجغرافي والسياسي لمختلف أجهزة ووكالات الاستخبارات البريطانية، وكيفية وتاريخ نشوء وتطور كل منها، وخصوصاً تلك التي لها علاقة بالعمليات المستورة، وهو ما يجعل الكتاب مرجعاً لكل مهتم بمعرفة بعض الجوانب الغامضة في أحداث تاريخية معينة (مثل الدور الذي لعبته الاستخبارات البريطانية في إفشال انقلاب هاشم العطا ضد النميري، والثمن الذي دفعته حكومة لندن للنميري مقابل توجهه غرباً... ومثل الانقلاب الذي نظمته الاستخبارات البريطانية بالاشتراك مع إسرائيل لإيصال عيدي أمين إلى السلطة في يوغندا، قبل أن ينقلب هذا الأخير على أسياده، لأنهم لم يسمحوا له بغزو تانزانيا... ومثل تفكير الاستخبارات البريطانية في الإطاحة بأنظمة الحكم في سورية ومصر والسعودية معاً، وبمساعدة نظام نوري السعيد في العراق في الخمسينات... الخ)، والدور الذي كان للأجهزة البريطانية في هذه الأحداث، وما زال لها إلى حينها في الأحداث الساخنة هذه الأيام، وإن تحت إشراف ورعاية استخبارات الولايات المتحدة، التي تتزعم -بلا منازع- العمليات الإرهابية المستورة التي تنفذ بعضها بمفردها، وبعضها الآخر بالشراكة مع الاستخبارات الغربية الأخرى، وعلى رأسها تلك البريطانية.
