وها نحن نحاول أن نتقصى ما كانت عليه الحال فى جنة ضائعة (أو جنة أضعناها)، فنستهل هذا الكتاب بتحديد الصورة العامة للمجتمع الأندلسى (والإسبانى) وعناصره الأصيلة والوافدة، ونثنى بالحديث عن الجماعة النصرانية من داخلها، ثم الجماعة النصرانية من خارجها، وننتهى بالحديث الإسلامى بالأندلس.
