يتحدث الكتاب عن قصة حقيقية لشاب كان أقصى طموحه أن يدخل أحد الأسواق دون عائلته، ولدى محاولته الدخول ومنعه أخبر حارس الأمن أنه ينوي الدخول للتقدم إلى وظيفة “بائع” في أحد المحلات، ما اضطره ليتقدم فعلا بعد أن كانت عين الحارس عليه، لكن المفاجأة أنه قبل فيها! ومنها بدأت مسيرته العملية. ومع مرور الأيام، بدأ يتنقل من ماركة إلى أخرى ومن منصب إلى آخر،وكانت تحدث له مواقف وقصص غريبة مع الزبائن وطريقة تسوقهم المختلفة تماماً عن بعضهم البعض. وبعد تركه العمل بدأ يسترجع تلك القصص ويدونها.
