وكنت أشبه بالطائر الذي أطلق جناحيه في أفق مليء بالألوان والبهجة متنقلاً بين الألعاب المسلية والتي تحتوي على روح المغامرة والتحدي، كأنني أتهيّأ لمواجهة أشياء خارقة.
ومن بين تلك الألعاب كانت المتاهة في قاعة يطلق عليها قصر المرايا، هي لعبة قائمة على القدرة البصرية والذهنية في عدم الإرتطام المباشر بالأبواب الزجاجية التي تكاد أن تكون غير مرئية، وهي في الأغلب أبواب مخادعة يتوهم التائه أنها ممرات سالكة، كنت أفكر فقط في الخروج، لكن دون جدوى حتى إنني فقدت متعة اللعب بسبب هواجس الخوف التي داهمتني في المتاهة، ظننت أنني لن أخرج أبداً من ذلك المكان وسأبقى مدى الحياة أدور في المتاهة، بكيت ورحت أصرخ حتى تردد صدى صرخاتي لمسامع السيدة الأربعينية التي قامت بإحتضاني وأخرجتني من ذلك الغيهب المقيت، ونظرت في عيني قائلة: كيف دخلت إلى هنا؟ لا يدخل هذه اللعبة إلا الكبار، إنها لعبة الكبار يا صغيري.
