فالإسلام دين تاريخي بدأت دعوته وتطورت في ظل التاريخ، وما زالت حتى الآن، وقصة ظهوره وإنتشاره ومبادئه هي إلى اليوم وفي كل وقت في متناول يد الدارس والباحث والذي يسعى وراء الحقيقة ليصل إلى طريق الفهم والمعرفة والإقناع.
والمصدر الذي يُمكن للباحث الرجوع إليه للوقوف على حقائق هذا الدين الكامل والفهم الشامل لمبادئه وأحكامه هي: (القرآن الكريم الذي يُعتبر تسجيلاً للوحي الإلهي، وتاريخ حياة نبي الإسلام ورسوله عليه الصلاة والسلام وما صدر عنه من أقوال وأفعال..).
وهكذا بسط الإسلام جناحيه بالسلام على الكون وفضائله وسجاياه، فلا الجيوش الجرارة ولا المعدات الحربية المدمرة ولا السيوف الحادة، ولا السهام ولا القسي ولا الرماح الصائبة... كل ذلك ليس بكاف في غزواته ولا في إنشاء دولة، إذا لم تسعدها الفضائل وتمدها المحامد، ويشيع فيها الخلق الكريم والإنسانية الفاضلة، ونشر السلام والوئام بين سائر الأنام.
