منذ اليوم الذي دعت فيه مصلحة شؤون المعاقين في تعاونية الشؤون الثقافية والرياضية وتحديداً لجنة الآداب في مركز التنمية الثقافية لكتابة القصة وحتى اليوم الذي استجاب فيه المدعوون لدعوتنا، ولبوا نداءنا وقدموا مجموعة من القصص اعتبرت بمثابة المحارة بين الأصداف البحرية. وبعد دراسات مكررة تم اختيار أثمن اللآلئ من بين مئات الأصداف ووضعوها في سلسلة لتعلق على قدكم البهي، وتحاكي ذوقكم الرفيع. وهكذا تشكلت هذه المجموعة.
تتراوح هذه القوالب المختارة ما بين قصص قصيرة وطويلة، ليتسنى لها إظهار شخصية المعاقين بشكل أفضل، وإبراز آلامهم ومعاناتهم، وتسليط الضوء على تضحياتهم وجهودهم وآمالهم التي لا حدود لها، ولتكون في الوقت ذاته منارة تنير على الكنوز المدفونة في داخلهم.
لا شك أن هناك مغزى مشتركاً بين هذه القصص بمجملها ألا وهو الإعلاء من شأن جرحى الحرب، لا التقليل منه.
