هذا الكتاب من الآثار الخالدة في اللغة الفارسية، مؤلفه محمد بن المنور حفيد الشيخ أبي سعيد، حيث سجل فيه أحوال جده وأخباره وكذلك الكرامات المنسوبة إليه. وقدمه إلى السلطان الغوري أبي الفتح غياث الدين محمد بن سالم المتوفى عام 599هـ؛ مما يرجح أن تأليف هذا الكتاب قد تم ما بين عامي 553هـ و599هـ.
وأسلوب الكتاب غاية في السلاسة والبلاغة مما يجعل قراءته الفارسية متعة، وهكذا جاءت ترجمته العربية سلسلة واضحة، تدفع القارئ دفعاً لمواصلة القراءة حتى نهاية الكتاب، وخاصة أن سيرة الشيخ أبي سعيد كانت نموذجاً احتذى به العديد من مشايخ التصوف الإسلامي عبر قرون عديدة.
