لست بصدد كتابة ترجمة عن شيخنا المؤرخ، ولا عن خصائصه النفسية والخلقية، وإنجازاته ومساهماته، فما ورد في المشاركات التي جمعتها في هذا الكتاب والتي جاءت في تأبين المغفور له شيخ المؤرخين ستجدها جلية واضحة في الكتابات النثرية لكتاب لهم ثقلهم في الساحة الإحسائية والمحلية أو في القطع الشعرية لكبار الشعراء وستجد فيها مختصراً عن حياته من الإبرة في خياطة المشالح حتى صناعته لتاريخ الأحساء والمنطقة، وفي هذا كفاية على الأقل لكتابنا هذا، وإلا حقه هو أكبر من ذلك كما هو حق كل من خدم مجتمعه ودينه وأمته، حقه هو دراسات لعمله وعلومه وشخصيته، فعسى أن يقيض الله من يقوم بمثل هذه الدراسات وأن لا يكون حظه كمثل من سبقوه من العلماء والأدباء.
