منذ فجر التاريخ الإسلامي كان شكل الحكومة الإسلامية والبحث في مفهوم الفقه السياسي الإسلامي من القضايا الشائكة والمهمة عند علماء المسلمين، بين طيات هذا الكتاب يطوف بنا المستشار الدكتور محمد الدمرداش العقالي في خبايا وأسرار التاريخ، ينطلق منذ اشتعال الجدل حول شكل الدولة الإسلامية والتي بدأت مع وفاة الرسول "صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم" وهو ما تعارف عليه "بعام الجماعة" وحتى الثورة المصرية في يناير 2011 والتي أسفرت عن حكم جماعة الإخوان المسلمين لمصر، ثم سقوطه بثورة شعبية عظيمة في 30 يونيو 2013، وبين عام الجماعة وتولي الجماعة حدثت أحداث جسام، وسطرت مئات الأطنان من الكتب والرسائل حول شكل دولة الإسلام، تغيرت الأسماء واختلفت البلدان والتوجهات، وظل الهدف واحد.. الصراع على السلطة، وتحت ستار الدين قننت الفتن، وطارت الرؤوس، هدمت المساجد ودور العبادة.. انتهكت الحركات وصار الحرام حلالًا والحلال حرام، وصار سفك الدماء وسيلة لتأكيد الإيمان، حتى وصلنا إلى اليوم الذي صار فيه الروبيضة الدعي يفتي بشرعية جهاد النكاح.
يقلب المؤلف في بعض الصفحات الدامية لمن نادي بالخلافة الإسلامية في كل العصور والبلدان، يلقي الضوء على مرتزقة الحروب وأمراء الفتن الذين جعلوا جل همهم إزكاء الصراعات الطائفية والمذهبية على مر العصور يبحث في مرويات التاريخ الإسلامي، يقف على بعض التجارب المظلمة فيه، ليس بغرض تسلية الوقت أو البكاء على اللبن المسكوب، بل الهدف والغاية هو العبرة والعظمة مما مر بأمتنا الحزينة التي سودت صفحات في تاريخها بصراع كان الدين هو زاده وهشيمه، والرغبة في لي أعناق النصوص الدينية لفرض شكل مشوه للدولة الإسلامية.
