أسخف ما في هذا الحر أنه يقلد البرد. يخز الجلد بأبر محمومة، وبدل اللسعات التي تقنفذ الجسد، تفجر فيه ينابيع الماء اللزج. منذ أسبوع اكتشف بالصدفة، أن "نادية" -وهي زوجته تقريبا- قد خانته مع "حامد"، صديقه الوسيم ذو الشارب الأشقر والضحكة المعلقة باستمرار مدهش بين أنفه المسحوب إلي أمام كانه استعاره من "سيرانو دى برجراك" وبين شفته السفلى المتدلية قليلا إلى تحت، فتعطى أسنانه المنتظمة فرصة الزهو بلمعتها. عن له أكثر من مرة أن يطلب إليه اسم المعجون الذى يستعمله. ولكنه عندما هم لينطق عدل عن الفكرة نهائيا. ما اهمية ذلك؟ لو كان خوه "وليد" محله لسأل "حامد" في نفس اللحظة التي تمر علامة الاستفهام بخاطره. كان دوما يزرع علامات الاستفهام من حوله، حتي لتبدو الدنيا معه حديقة مخضرة بالاسئلة. لا. المسألة ليست مجرد شكوك. لماذا يشك أو لا يشك، ولديه من الشواهد ما يدفئ يقينه. لأن اليقين مريح، فهو لا يحس بشئ غير عادى فى المسألة. وللدقة، هو لا يهمه أن يحس بشئ عادى او غير عادى.
خلال هذا الأسبوع ضبط نفسه، مرتين، في حالة تلبس بسؤال: "هل مازال في الأمكان الاحساس بشئ.. أى شئ؟" انتظر الجواب. لكن شيئا فيه لم ينطق. بداخله يعوي الصمت، منذ زمن، كأنه ريح مجهولة في صحراء مفقودة. هل هناك وباء جديد انتشر فى العالم يطفئ الأضواء ويخرس المشاعر في جوف ابن حواء وآدم؟ حسنا.. لقد وقعت الراس في الفاس، أو الفأس في الراس، لا يدري بالضبط كيف يقولونها، هذه العبارة ذات التركيب العجيب كلوحة من لوحات "سلفاتور دالى".. تجريد في تجويد. كل شئ فى الدنيا له وظيفة، له دور، إلا أنه مع ذلك شئ مجرد. عالم بأكمله فيه الجمال والمربع والجنس والخط المستقيم والموت والنار.. السماء.. أسئلة وليد.. الجريدة.. الحقيقة. والحقيقة أن خيانة نادية أصبحت حقيقة. شئ مجرد، يتنفس معه هذا الجو الحار غير المحتمل -فماذا عساه يفعل؟.
