أودعنا هذا الكتاب ثلاثة بحوث تطبيقية تمثل عصور مختلفة منذ العصر الجاهلى وحتى العصر الحديث.. يتناول سمات البيئة الجاهلية بالرغم من صغر سنه حين وفاته، وقلة ما خلف لنا من آثار أدبية. ويتناول البحث الثانى وعنوانه "قراءة فى رحاب الأندلس" ويتناول تحليلاً نصياً لقصيدتين من عيون الشعر العربى، الأولى قصيدة "ابن خفاجة" فى وصف الجبل. والثانية قصيدة أبى البقاء الرندى فى رثاء الأندلس. أما البحث الثالث فقد تناول فيه "حركة الشعر الحر-نشأته-رواده-نماذجه-موسيقاه وقوافيه" أردنا من خلال إبراز هذا الشكل التعبيرى فى أدبنا الحديث والمعاصر من خلال استثقاء نماذج تطبيقية تبرز ماهية هذا الشكل ودوره فى حركة الشعر فى العصر الحديث منذ نشأته ألى أن أصبح شكلا تعبيرياً قائما على التفعيلة التى استبدل بها السطر الشعرى، فوجدت صدى عميقا فى إبداعات كثير من الشعراء المحدثين والمعاصرين.
