"السفاريني" هو أبو العون شمس الدين محمد بن أحمد بن سليمان السفاريني. عالم بالحديث والأصول والأدب، القضية الحنبلي المسند الحافظ المتقن، صاحب هذا الشرح "الملح الغرامية على منظومة ابن فرح اللامية". والملح الغرامية هي عبارة عن منظومة غرامية لابن فرح قصد بها الحديث عن مصطلح الحديث ومصطلح الحديث هو أصل من الأصول تجلى به سنة الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم، منهج يستضئ به تفكير العقول يتميز به الغث من السمين.
وبالنظر لأهمية هذه المنظومة فقد اعتنى "أبو المنذر سامي أنور جاهين" بتحقيقها فقام بـ بتخريج ما فيها من آيات قرآنية وأحاديث نبوية بعد أن قام بنسخ المنظومة وتصحيحها، وقصده التبين من الحديث وطبيعته ضعيفة أو قوية، كما واهتم بالكشف عن معاني بعض المفردات، و شكل المشكل وعلق على بعض المشكلات، واصلح من المخطوط أحرفاً بسيرة وذكر إصلاحات أخرى بالهامش ليست بالكثرة، ووضع مقدمة لها. وفهارس، تيسر على القارئ وتفيد الممارس.
