هذا المؤلّف للكاتب المناضل د. فايز رشيد يستعرض فيه سيرةَ شخصيّةٍ وطنيّةٍ تاريخيّةٍ إستثنائية، فالشهيد "أبو علي مصطفى" كان من القادة الذين تتحدّث عنهم أعمالهم ومواقفهم: قائداً تحكم سلوكه منظومةً من القيم الإنسانيّة والأخلاقيّة الثوريّة، انتزع حضوره الوطنيّ وإحترامه من الكل الوطني مّمن اتّفق واختلف معه في الرأي على حدٍّ سواء؛ وعليه فليس من الغريب أن يختاره العدوّ هدفاً مباشراً لصواريخه، فالرموز القياديّة تشكّل قوّة مثالٍ، وتؤسّس لصلابة الهويّة الوطنيّة الفلسطينيّة وتماسُكها، وتقدّم روافع لحماية الثورة من أخطار الإنحراف أو الإرتجال أو المساومات الرخيصة، وهذا التوصيف انسحب على الجيل المؤسّس لحركة القوميّين العرب والجبهة الشعبيّة لتحرير فلسطين.
وبعيداً عن الإسهاب، فإنّ أساس تميّز القائد الشهيد "أبو علي" مستمدٌّ من شخصيته الإنسانيّة، الّتي اتسمت بالوضوح والبساطة والتواضع الثوريّ وصلابة العامل وعزيمة الفلاح الكافح، وهذا ما جعل منه قائداً شعبياً قريباً من أفئدة الجماهير، أجاد مخاطبتهم، وحاكى همومهم بعيداً عن المصطلحات والزفرات الكلاميّة لتصل أفكاره بوضوح إلى كل من يستمع إليه، فهو الإنسان العصاميّ في حياته وفي بناء شخصيّته القياديّة، وكلمته الصادقة النابعة من القلب، الّتي لا تغض النظر عن الأخطاء سواء تلك التي تتناول موقف الجبهة أو الوضع الوطني العام.
هكذا كان "أبو علي" الإنسان أوّلاً، والقياديّ الثوريّ المتماسك ثانياً بقوة المثال في الحرب والوضع الوطنيّ، وعلى المستوى الشعبيّ العامّ.
