يتناول هذا الكتاب البُنية اللسانية لخطاب العنف، ممثَّلاً بخطاب تنظيم داعش الإرهابي المتطرِّف، هذا الخطاب الذي وسمَ نفسه بخطاب التوحش، من خلال الكشف عن أولى مداخله، وهي "العتبات"، وقراءة تشكلات العنف والإرهاب من خلال هذا الباب المهم من أبواب خطاب العنف، في معالجة لغوية، ومصاحبة بحثية معاصرة له، قبل أن تخمد النار، ويخبو الوهج، وتنتهي حفلة الألعاب الدموية المدمِّرة لهذا الخطاب، وتأخذ الأشياء مكانها الطبيعي.
لقد ترك هذا التنظيم بعنفه وتطرفه وإرهابه على بحيرات الفكر السياسي والإستراتيجي والأمني والدبلوماسي والأيديولوجي أكثر من دائرة، وأثار على سطح المعالَجات بأشكالها أكثر من بقعة وعلامة إستفهام، بيد أن هذا البحث في مباحثه الثلاثة يهدف إلى الكشف عن حالة خاملة ومهمّلة، ولكنها مؤثِّرة ومركزية في النظر إلى هذا التنظيم، وذلك من خلال مقاربة نشأة الإرهاب عبر لغة الإعلان عن قيامه، ونشوء فروعه في العالم، وتياراته وأحزابه وتنظيماته، على لسان المنتمين إلى هذا التنظيم في بياناتهم وإعلاناتهم وخطبهم، وإذا كان تحليل ثمرة الجوز يعني كسرها بتعبير هيغل، فإن ثمرة الجوز هنا، التي تنهض المقاربة نحو كسرها وتفكيكها والنظر فيها، هي تلك الإعلانات والبيانات التي يعلن من خلالها هذا التنظيم إنطلاق دولته، أو قيام فرع من فروعه هنا أو هناك، في أي بقعة بريئة من بقاع هذا العالم.
