"يبقى الجميع في منازلهم على التلفزيون، ولأنهم لا يخرجون، يأتي التلفزيون بالمجتمع إليهم، سياسيين ومطربين ونجوم مجتمع ورحلات إلى البراري والغابات، وكل ما لم تره عين ولا وقع عليه خيال. فجأة يطلب من الناس الذين يختبئون في بيوتهم دفعاً لعوامل المفاجأة وخوفاً من المجهول والمعلوم-أن يندفعوا كالسيل العارم إلى صناديق الاقتراع وهكذا يواجه "البيتيون" "المفقَرون" أنواعاً من الرعب تبدأ بضربة عصا أو التلويح بسكين وتنتهي بالتخويف من انفراط صيغة العيش المشترك وأن البلد على شفير الهاوية!؟".
من يقرأ عماد العبد الله في "قطر الندى-من أحلام الحرية إلى منازل الذل" يشعر على الفور بأن البساطة هي الماء الذي عجن به كتاباته. بساطة فيها من العفوية والانطلاق على السجية الشيء الكثير. بساطة تجعله يعكف على ذاكرته، الفردية والجماعية، فيستنبشها قطرة وقطرة، ثم يسكبها وكأنها تنزل ليس فقط من عينيه وقلبه جميعاً، وإنما أيضاً من ضحكاته الريفية التي لم تنجح المدينة في تدجينها رغم نصف قرن من التلوث والصدمات. البسيط العفوي، كما المرهق المفكر يُقبل على "قطر الندى" فيفرح به ويغتسل بطراوته. وحين يغادره يبقى في داخله شيء ما علق بالبال، ملتصق بالذاكرة في نقطة ما، في زاوية دافئة خفية لشدة حميمتها.
