خرجت بعض الأصوات التي لم تستطيع الطعن في القرآن الكريم بأقوال تطعن في السنة النبوية الشريفة بحجة كتابتها بعد وفاة الرسول "صلى الله عليه وسلم"، وهي حجة إذا ما من تفنيدها والفراغ منها تخرج أقوال بأنها لم تكتب منذ العهد الأول حيث ورد في الحديث الشريف النهي عن الكفاية ثم بعد ذلك السماح بكتابتها، وهي الحجة التي يتصدى لها هذه المرة الدكتور (رشوان أو زيد) بهذا البحث الذي يتناول فيه حال الكتابة عند ظهور الإسلام والنهي عن كتابة الحديث.. ثم الأمر بالكتابة، ومناقشة الأسباب التي ورد ذكرها للنهي عن الكتابة.. لتصل البحث إلى نهايته ويخلص إلى نتائجه في خاتمته. فهو يثبت كيف أن هذه الأسباب التي ورد ذكرها للنهي عن الكتابة.. لتصل البحث إلى نهايته ويخلص إلى نتاتجه في خاتمته. فهو يثبت كيف أن هذه الأسباب لا تشمل حديث النبي "صلى الله عليه وسلم"، وذلك بشرحها واحدة تلو الأخرى، والكتاب يناقش تلك القضية بالأدلة والبراهين وأوائل السلف والعلماء، ويعرضها على القارئ بأسلوب يسير لا تعقيد فيه وإسهاب يزيد عن الحاجة.
