ويأتي هذا المؤلف بحصيلة ذلك المشوار ليضمّ بين طياته "موسوعة النباتات الطبية" فيه من المعجم ترتيبه وتنظيمه ومن الموسوعة وصف الحقائق بشرحٍ وافٍ ومن زوايا متعددة؛ يعالج 1893 نبتة فيذكر التسمية العربية مع مقابلاتها الإنجليزية والفرنسية والألمانية واللاتينية، أما الشروحات فقد توزعت على النوع والمركبات والخصائص والاستعمال وطريقة الاستعمال.
وقد ذيّل المعجم بـ28 ملاحق للفصائل النباتية والمصطلحات الطبية والتقنية وبـ44 مسرد للمصطلحات الإنجليزية والفرنسية والألمانية واللاتينية، كما زوّد بـ413 صورة ملونة، وهي تمتاز بخصيصتين: قدرة بعضها، وأصالتها جميعاً، لأنها حصيلة عمل ميداني وليست اقتباساً من أي معجم أو من بنوك المعلومات.
والهدف من هذا الكتاب هو تحرير معجم عربي متخصص في موضوعه، عاماً في أهدافه، يحتاجه العالم والأستاذ والطالب والمثقف، ويلبي رغبة الناس في معرفة خصائص النباتات والاستفادة من استعمالاتها والابتعاد عن مضارها في عصر شكلت فيه العودة إلى التداوي بالأعشاب مباشرة أو مداورة، سمة بارزة في مسيرة العلم بعامة والطب بخاصة.
