تتبع الدراسة، بصورة علمية موثقة، أوضاع الأوقاف الإسلامية في فلسطين بدءاً بالعهد العثماني، مروراً بالانتداب البريطاني ووصولاً إلى الاحتلال الإسرائيلي. وتركز على مخططات إسرائيل ومساعيها المتواصلة للاستيلاء على أملاك الأوقاف الإسلامية، وخصوصاً في مدينة القدس، وتبين الطرق والأساليب المتعددة التي اتبعتها لتحقيق هذه الغاية. كما تعرض، بالتفصيل، الإجراءات التي نفذتها سلطات الاحتلال على أرض الواقع، مثل مصادرة الأملاك الموقوفة، فضلاً عن وضع اليد على 420.000 دونم من الأراضي. وتستند الدراسة إلى وثائق عثمانية وعربية وإنكليزية وإسرائيلية، إلى جانب الدراسة الميدانية والمقابلات التي أجراها المؤلف خلال إقامته بفلسطين المحتلة.
