ورغم أن الدكتور جوبلز كان صاحب أسلوب أدبي وخطيب مفوه يملك القدرة على التحدث لعدة ساعات دون توقف بأقوى العبارات وأجمل الكلمات إلا أنه كان معروفًا بمقته الشديد للثقافة، وبالذات الذين يعملون بها وقد اشتهر بمقولته المأثورة: "ما إن أسمع كلمة ثقافة حتى أتحسس على الفور مسدسي"، وهو أيضًا صاحب المقولة التي ذاعت وشاعت أثناء الحرب العالمية الثانية: "أكذب ثم أكذب ثم أكذب حتى تصدق نفسك فيصدقك الآخرين" وربما هي نفس العبارة التي كان يروجها رئيس الوزراء البريطاني العريق ونستون تشرشل: "الحقيقة يجب حمايتها بجيش من الأكاذيب".
وعلى أية حال هذه بعض أوراق جوبلز السرية التي عثرت عليها قوات الحلفاء بعد سقوط برلين وسكوت المدافع، وبعد أن أطلق جوبلز النار على نفسه وزوجته وأولاده الستة الذين أرغمهم على تناول السم قبل أن يطلق النار على نفسه ليلقى بذلك مصير هتلر بدلًا من الوقوع في يد الأعداء.
