كان "يوم خاص" استقبلت فيه جمانة بعد غياب 25 سنة وأودع ميا بعد غياب عشرين سنة، وودعت آلسن بعد خلاف مضى وكأن شيئاً أو خلافاً لم يكن. من "يوم خاص" فجأة "طلع ع بالي" ألعب "بالربع" لعبة "طرة نقشة". فأدخلت يدي في جيبي حيث أمسكت القطعة المعدنية و"برمتها" لمرات عدة ثم أبقيتها في مكانها، ورفعت يدي لأتناول السبحة من يدي اليسرى وأعود لأسبح، وذلك بعد أن مرّت ومضة في خيالي تذكرني بأني قد بلغت 54 سنة، وحتماً سأبدو "مضحكة" لمن يراني ألعب "بالربع". من "عودة إلى "الربع" ليرة" لا نعرف عن بعضنا البعض سوى القليل وليس هناك صديق أو صديقة لها ولي مشتركان ولا أعرف بيتها ولا تعرف بيتي ولا عندي نمرة تلفونها ولا هي عندها نمرتي. كل ما كنا نعرفه عن بعضنا البعض أننا من سكان الحمراء. من "تزوجت" درس هروب منها مثلما يدرس التلميذ الشاطر درسه لينال علامة جيد جداً. إذ كان لا يريد أن يعلق بها، وفي الوقت نفسه يريدها وبخاصة لأنها أظهرت ميلاً ما نحوه وإن بإشارات لا بد منها فيما هو كان يتمنى ظهور تلك الإشارات من امرأة ينتظرها. من "دبّر لها واحد" فوافقته من حيث المبدأ، لكني سرعان ما قلت له بأن الوضع الآن كما هو معروف لم يعد يقيم وزناً لمعايير الكتابة والطباعة والنشر. وكل من لديه أو لديها المال يدفع ويطبع صف كلام لا أدب ولا إبداع فيه. من "يا ضيعان الشجر" وبخاصة عن توارد الأفكار الذي حصل ما بين يوسف الخال وبيني حول فكرة أن يتحقق نوع آخر من الاشتراكية في أميركا وأوروبا. مع فارق زمني بأربعة عقود، ما بين تاريخ كتابة يوسف الخال عن تلك الاشتراكية، وبين ما أنا كتبته منذ ستة أسابيع. من "بحبشة كاتب" ظهر تأثير كلام جدتي فيَّ بوضوح، إذ كثيراً ما كنت أتذكر وأرى في خيالي تعابير وجه جدتي المجعد وفيه لمحة غضب وزعل على ملخ اغصان التين والزيتون. وتردادها لكلمتي: "عم يكرهو الناس فين" و"بهيك عمايل ما بتحرر فلسطين". من "الحق حق يا ستي".
