التشبيه الضّمني: تشبيه خفيّ غير صريح، لا يأتي على أيّ صورة من صور التشبيه المعروفة، ولا يَردُ فيه المشبه والمشبّه به صراحةً، بل يُلمحان ويُفهمان من تضاعيف الكلام، ولذلك سُمَي ضمنياً.
والتشبيه الضمنيّ ثريُّ المعاني والمباني، ليس لأنه أبرز أنواع التشبيه وأشهرها، بل لأنه يتسمُ بسماتٍ تفرد بها دون غيره من ألوان التشبيه، وفي هذا وظائف نفسية وجمالية تستحق أن نتوقف عندها لنجلو دقائقها وخفاياها وأسرارها.
