الحلم أحد فضاءات الغياب التي شاعت في تجربة الشاعر عدنان الزيادي الشعرية (شيءٌ مثل إطباقةِ باب)، والحلم هنا يرتبط بحالة فردية رآها أو عاشها الشاعر "يا الممشوقة / سريرك يخطرُ في البال زورقاً / ألقاه طفلٌ ما في مياهي لتبدأ الأوراق تحلمُ، / فاجأني الغيابُ / كنتُ أرتّبُ للصباح ما رواه لي حُلمي، / من نومي أخذت غزالةً كي أتصيدها بصحوي / وعلى عادة الأمراء وهم يلقون بالغمزات إلى محظياتٍ / حلقن لأجلهم (...) أخذت على عاتقي أراقبُ الآتي ومعه القطيعَ إلى الآبار / هناك رأى خيالهُ العميق كأفقٍ على قرني كبشٍ / حمل إلينا السحاب (...)". هكذا يتواصل الشاعر بعباراته بين الحلم والواقع؛ عبر حشد الصور والدلالات الرمزية التي تعبر عن همومه وانشغالاته، وتخاطب المتلقي في آن معاً.
يضم الكتاب (18) قصيدة نثرية نذكر من عناوينها: "العالية، مَنْ يصلها" ، "إلى مصبتّها العالي أيها المجرى" ، "شيءٌ يشبه السقوط" ، "أخذٌ طوى الورقة" ، "بعدَهُ ،كأنه يذهب" ، لأجلكم، الذي يبقى" ، "نسيان" ، "حالة بقاء" (...) وعناوين أخرى.
