إن العقيدة التي رواها الإمام "عبد الرحمن بن أبي حاتم الرازي" عن أبيه الإمام، والإمام أبي زرعة الرازي، المسماة: "أصل السنة وإعتقاد الدين"، من أنفع العقائد وأعذب الموارد، وأجلِّ الفوائد، وأجمع الشوارد، إذ قد احتوت على أهم مباحث علم الإعتقاد السلفي، وما زالت حتى الآن بكْراً لم يفتض ختامها، وحمىً لم يحم حوله أحدٌ بالشرح عليها والإنابة إليها؛ ولما كانت محتاجةً في كثير من مواضعها إلى شرح يحل ألفاظها ومبانيها، ويكشف عن معانيها، ويزيح الستار عن مكنون جواهرها، ويبرزُ محاسنها وغررها، ويتمّم مقاصدها، ويجمع متباعدها، ويوضح مُشكلها ويفتح مُقفلها، ويبين خفيّها وأصولها ويقرب قصيّها وفصولها.
رأى المؤلف رغم قلة الوسائل وكثرة العوائق والشواغل، وتشتت الأفكار وتغير الأوطار ضرورة شرحها شرحاً ليس بطويل ممل، ولا قصير مخل، وقد أكثر فيه من إيراد الشواهد والبراهين من كتاب رب العالمين وسنة سيد المرسلين وأقوال أئمة السلف المتبعين ليكون الناظر فيه على بصيرة ويقين، وقد وسمته بــ"الإنتصار بشرح عقيدة أئمَّة الأمصار".
