"سحر البلاغة وسر البراعة" كتاب يجمع فيه "أبي منصور النيسابوري" أفضل ما خطّه بلغاء النشر وأمراء الشعر من نصوص وأشعار وطرائف ونكت، ومخاطبات ومحاورات كان قد جمعها قبلاً في كتابه "يتيمة الدهر". قسّم النيسابوري مادة كتابه إلى أربعة عشر كتاباً وزع عناوينها على الشكل التالي: ذكر الله تعالى ورسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم وكتابه؛ كتاب الأزمنة والأمكنة وما يتصل بها ويشاكلها، كتاب أحوال الإنسان من لدُن صغره ونمائه، إلى كبره وانتهائه، كتاب الطعام والشراب وما ينضاف إليهما ويقترب بهما. كتاب النظم والنثر وأصحابهما وآلاتهما وأدواتهما، كتاب الممادح والأثنية وما يجري مجراها؛ كتاب المساوئ والمقابح وما يدانيها كتاب العيادة وما يجانسها، كتاب التهاني والتهادي، كتاب التعازي، كتاب الإخوانيات، كتاب السلطانيات، كتاب الشوارد، كتاب الأمثال.
