من المعلوم أن لكنات ولهجات العرب الذين أنزل عليهم القرآن، كانت مختلفة حتى أنهم كانوا يختلفوا في نطق الكلمة الواحدة مثلاُ كلمة (الناس) تنطق بفتح الألف في لهجة معينة وتنطق بكسر الألف في لهجة أخرى، وقد جمع القرآن على تشكيل واحد الصحابي الجليل وأمير المؤمنين "عثمان بن عفان". وكان هناك سبع قراءات ثابتة وثلاث قراءات مكملة للسبع فيكتمل عقد القراءات العشر، وكل هذه القراءات ونطقها وردت عن الرسول الكريم وتناقلتها الصحابة ثم التابعون فالتابعين وهكذا.
هذا الكتاب، يتضمن الجزء الثاني من "النفحات العاطرة في جمع القراءات العشر المتواترة. وفيه يتابع "محمد حسان ابراهيم سبسبي" ما بدأه في الجزء الأول من أحكام القراءات العشر المتواترة من بداية الجزء السادس من "سورة النساء، وانتهاء بالآية الكريمة (52) آخر سورة ابراهيم، بإيراد القراءات والدليل من الشاطبية أو غيرها وبترتيب القراء.
وفي هذا السياق نذكر أن الجزء الأول من هذا العمل، يتضمن إجازات الؤلف في القراءات العشر المتواترة، ويبين أسماء القراء ورواتهم وتاريخهم، وطرق جمع القراءات وأصول القراء ومنهم: قالون وورش وابن كثير المكي وأي عمر البصيري وابن عامر الشامي وعاصم بن أبي النجود وحمزو والكسائي وأبي جعفر المدني ويعقوب البصري حتى خلف العاشر. ثم يتناول فرش الحروف من سورة الفاتحة حتى النساء.
