بناء على قرار قسم اللغة العربية بكلية الآداب جامعة الخرطوم بتاريخ 5 فبراير سنة 1974 والخاص بتدريس تخريج القراءات العشر على طلاب الامتياز الأول والثاني "الماجستير" قام الدكتور "محمد سالم محيسن" بإعداد بحثه الذي بين أيدينا والمعنون المستنير في تخريج القراءات المتواتر من حيث اللغة والإعراب، والتفسير متوخياً فيه جزالة العبارة، وسهولة التركيب، بعيداً عن التطويل المخل، والتقصير المخل، ومكتفياً بأرجح الأقوال، بعيداً عن التيارات والخلافات اللغوية، والتفسيرية. وبالرجوع إلى المنهاج الذي اتبعه في البحث نجد أنه يتجلى بـ: أولاً: كتب الكلمة القرآنية التي فيها أكثر من قراءة، مشيراً إلى سورتها ورقم الآية التي فيها. ثانياً: شرح المفردات اللغوية، والغريبة واهتم بإعراب الجمل القرآنية. ثالثاً: ذكر القراءات العشر المتواترة، ناسباً إياها إلى قرائها، رابعاً: ذكر المعنى المراد في الآية القرآنية. خامساً: جمع في مقدمة البحث فصلين هامين: الأول ضمنه نبذة يسيرة عن القراء العشرة. الثاني: عرف فيه برواة القراء العشر.
