هذا بحث في غاية الموضوعية داخلته المؤلف مؤيداً لموضوع الإعجاز العددي منه على غير ما دخل لأن التمس الحق وبحث عنه حتى أنه قد قرأ في هذا الموضوع ما يزيد عن عشرين كتاباً وأكثرها من المجوزين لهذا الإعجاز ومدافعين عنه، لكن وجد عند بعضهم انعدام الموضوعية والنقل غير الأمين والنقل بثقة كبيرة دون التكلف بعناء المتابعة والبحث بل يأخذ الأرقام مسلمات دون أن يعرضها تحت مجهر البحث والتحقيق، فكان يصطدم أحياناً حين يجد أحد الكتاب يأخذ عدد الحروف في سورة معينة ثم يبني عليها حسابات خاطئة، فتتبع هذه الأبحاث وبين عوارها وانعدام منهجيتها وسقوط دلائلها، وكان بالإمكان أن يكون هذا البحث ضعف هذا الحجم لكنه اكتفى واعتمد على فطنة القارئ ثم أنه سهل له الرجوع إلى المصادر والمراجع التي يمكنه من خلالها الإطلاع وأخذ المزيد.
وكانت خطته في البحث أن يذكر رأي المؤيدين وأدلتهم ثم ينقضها أولاً بأول مع ذكر كتبهم لتكون شاهدة عليهم. فبعد أن مهد للموضوع قسم البحث إلى أربعة فصول ذكر في كل فصل دليل القائلين بالإعجاز العددي ثم تعرض بالمطالب والمباحث للتفصيلات والردود، وكان الفصل الرابع مختصاً بتناقضات وقع فيها كتاب ما يسمى بالإعجاز العددي ثم بعد ذلك كانت الخاتمة.
