من روائع الأدب الروسي وكلاسيكياسته ومن أعمال "دوستونيسكي" هذا المجلد الذي بين يدينا فبين دفتيه يحمل رواية " نيتو تشكانزفانوفا" والتى كان مخططا لها ان تكون في ستة مجلدات لم تكتمل لدخول دوستويفسكي السجن ولكنها خرجت في ثلاثة فقط بعد ان قام مبدعها ببعض الحذف والتعديل عليها ايضا ينضم إلى هذا التحفة الأدبية مجموعة أخرى من القصص وهى "الليالي البيضاء" و " بوخارتشين"و " الجازة" و" المهرج" و " السارق الشريف" و " البطل الصغير" و " قصة في تشع رسائل " و " شجرة عيد الميلاد والزواج" .. وأخيرا " زوجة آخروزوج تحت السرير" انه عقد من روائع الأدب العالمي نظمت حياته واحتواها هذا الكتاب.

ان الاطفال يدركون بسهولة عظيمة ان آباءهم يرونهم أصغر سناً من أن يستطيعوا الفهم, مع انهم في الواقع يفهمون كل شيء! (ان الكبار يجهلون أن الطفل يستطيع حتى في أخطر ظرف أن يسدي بنصيحة رائعة). وحين ينظر اليك هذا الطائر الصغير الجميل, حين ينظر اليك سعيداً واثقاً, فهل تستطيع أن تغشه دون أن تشعر بالخزي؟ انني أسميهم طيوراً صغيرة, لأن الطيور خير ما في العالم
