في مسار فتحية السعودي ما يستدعي النظر الروائي إلى العالم، الذي يحاور إنساناً انتهى إلى حيث لا يريد، ويرصد طريقاً يخادع السائر فوقه، ويقوده إلى موقع لم يتوقعه.
لم يكن في شباب فتحية، ما يلمح إلى احتراف الكتابة. فقد درست الطب في فرنسا واختصت، لاحقاً، بطب الأطفال. كانت تعبّر في اختيارها عن كراهية المرض وضرورة الشفاء، وتنظر إلى عالم الأطفال البريء، الذي تعالجه الحياة كما تشاء. وكانت، آنذاك، مقتصدة في الكلام وممتلئة بالأمل. وتابعت أقدارها مع الحياة، دون أن تتخلى عن احترام الكلام والإحتفاء بالتفاؤل.
صاغت كتابها إلى "أطفال وأنبياء" متكئة على مرجع واضح ثنائي العلاقة: المعاناة والنبوّة، إذ في المعاناة ألم وقلق وحيرة، وإذ في النبوة قبول الألم والتصدي له. وقد يأتي المرجع، وحيداً، من تجربة متراكمة، عرفت الإغتراب والمواجهة، أو من عودة إلى سير الأنبياء، الذين جمعوا بين المأساة والإنتصار، أو بين الرسالة والحقيقة. رجعت فتحية، التي علّمتها الحياة دلالات المأساة، إلى "قصص" أنبياء أربعة: إبراهيم، موسى وعيسى ومحمد. تأملت تجاربهم، في ضوء أقدارها، وترجمت ما رأت في كتابة تحاكي الشعر، وتريد أن تكون شعراً، متوسلة الإيقاع والصور، وفراغات تقول ما لا تقوله الكتابة.
استندت فتحية السعودي، في بوحها الشعري، على تجربة ذاتية مديدة، قوامها الأمل المجزوء واستئناف الأمل، ومرجعها محاكاة سير الأنبياء، التي بدأت شاقة وعصيبة وانتهت إلى راحة ونور. ولهذا يتسرب التصوف إلى الكلام، مستوحياً تعب الروح لا القواميس. عثر الأنبياء على خلاصهم في رسائلهم المنتصرة، التي أرادت للبشر خلاصاً يحررهم من فساد الأزمنة.
