كتاب "غوائل الأرمن في الفكر السوري" يقع كما تخبر الباحثة في مقدمتها، ضمن بحث لرسالة دكتوراه تحضرها في جامعة بريغان الحكومية في أرمينيا، وقد شاءت إهداؤه إلى "أخوتها العرب السوريين، أصحاب قضية وحق.. وإلى المجتمع السوري بخاصة والعربي بعامة، إسهاماً في إضاءة جانب من مسألة إبادة الأرمن لأننا نستطيع معاً إيقاف إبادات جديدة بإدانة الإبادات السابقة". وتشرح الباحثة في مقدمتها الأسلوب الذي اتبعته في إعداد الكتاب، فتوجهت إلى 60 شخصية فكرية وسياسية وثقافية ودينية سورية بأسئلة طلب منهم الإجابة عنها، فاستجاب لها 43 ممن سألتهم. ومن هذه الإجابات التي تلقتها كان كتابها هذا.
وقد أثبتت في المقدمة مقتطفات مطولة من كلمة ألقاها الرئيس حافظ الأسد، أثناء زرايته أرمينيا عام 1979. بالإضافة إلى كلمته مرحباً بالرئيس ليفون دير بيدروسيان رئيس جمهورية أرمينيا السابق لدى زيارته سورية عام 1992 في الكلمتين خلاصة للخبرة السورية مع الأرمن، وهي خبرة ابتدأت بالتعاطف السوري مع اللاجئين الأرمن بعد مذابح 1915 وانتهت بشعور مريح لدى السوريين والأرمن معاً، ناتج عن حسن اندماج الأرمن في أجواء المجتمع السوري.
وتبدأ الباحثة تأريخها للتعاطف السوري مع الأرمن من أيام الدولة العثمانية حين اهتم العلامة فارس الخوري بمصير أحد زملائه في مجلس المبعوثان، الذي، اختفى، مقتولاً كما يُفهم، على يد قوى السلطة وتَتَابع هذا التعاطف عبر كتابات السوريين عن مذابح الأرمن، ولا سيما كتابات المحامي، فائز القصين الذي كان عضواً في جميعة العربية الفتاة، والسياسي يوسف الحكيم الذي تولى لفترات طويلة مسؤوليات وزارية هامة، والمؤرخ الموسوعي محمد كرد علي مؤسس مجمع اللغة العربية ورئيسه الأول. أما إسهام الباحثة الأهم في الإضاءة على موضوع كتابها فهو ما استطاعت جمعه من شهادات المفكرين السوريين المعاصرين، ومن خلاله يتضح أن التعاطف السوري مع الأرمن متواصل منذ البدايات، أوائل القرن الحادي والعشرين، أي لفترة تقترب من قرن. وانطلاقاً من التزام الباحثة السوري والإنساني فقد عقدت فصلاً من فصول الكتاب للمقارنة بين القضية الفلسطينية والقضية الأرمنية مظهرة، من خلال المقارنة، أوجه التماثل بين الظلم الذي أوقعه الصهاينة بالفلسطينيين.
