يمثل هذا الكتاب قراءة معاصرة لتحقيق منطق بإمكانه أن يسمّى بالمنطق الوجودي الصوفي عند الشيخ الأكبر محيي الدين ابن عربي في إطاره المحلي من الخطاب الصوفي. وهي محاولة ظهر من خلالها شعور الصوفي الوعيوي بالوجود الزماني مع الاحتفاظ يقيمته الإنسانية في حدودها التاريخيةـ فكان الصوفي ابن وقته، كما أن تجربته إنسانية ودينية في نفس الآن. إنها تجربة تم توظيفها لإبراز الجانب الباطني والروحي من الكيان التاريخي للإنسان ومن الظاهر الشرعي للدين، فكانت هي تجربة نموذجية لحصول الرابطة المتينة بين الخطاب الإنساني والخطاب الدين في مستواها الوجودي والمعرفي، وهي تجربة كان الوعي المعاصر في أمسّ الحاجة إليها بغية الخروج من الأزمة الإنسانية والدينية.
