أنا محاسن الديواني، أتوجه الآن إلى أرض اللعنات، أو البراكين، بعد أن هدأت قليلاً، أتوجه إليها من مقامي الأخير في بريطانيا، بعد عشرين عاماً من غربة قسرية، وإنتماء آخر إلى وطن جديد.
فعائلتي الآن تحمل الجنسية البريطانية، وأنا أتحرك بجواز سفر بريطاني، أحمر، عليه نقشة ذهبية اللون لتاج إلى يساره أسد مكلل بتاج، وإلى يمينه حصان (تنين) في رأسه رمح.
هذا الجواز يخولني الدخول إلى كل أقطار العالم، بعد أن كان جوازي القديم لا يفتح الأبواب أمامي، لكن من أنا؟ هذا السؤال كان يلح عليّ منذ وعيي وحتى هذه الساعة، فأنا كنت، وما زال، أشعر أنني بلا وطن، وها أنا ذي أذهب إلى لا وطني في زيارة اقتضتها ضرورات إرتباطاتي السابقة بهذا اللا وطن.
أنا أعلم أنني لن أرى عراق طفولتي وشبابي، وحتى ما بعد ذلك، بل سأرى عراق شوارتزكوف صادر عراقي وأحاله إلى حطام وتعازٍ وأدعية، سيطوقني الحطام بأحزمته الخانقة، ستملأ سمعي التعازي والأدعية في كل شبر من أشبار البلد، لكن هناك متخلفات تدعوني للعودة إليها.
هذه المتخلفات هي مورد رزقي، أو هي دعم لا يستغنى عنه لمورد رزقي الذي يقيم الأود في بريطانيا، إنني ذاهبة لإنجاز معاملة التقاعد لزوجي المتوفى حديثاً، بعد أن خدم في العراق أكثر من أربعين عاماً.
حجزت لي ابنتي بتول تذكرة إلى عمان، ثم بعد يومين إلى بغداد، وفي يوم السفر رافقتني في سيارة أجرة إلى مطار هيثرو، وأنجزت معي كل معاملات السفر، ثم ودعتني عائدة إلى بيتنا في حي إيلينغ، سافرت في طائرة الخطوط الجوية الملكية الأردنية من تيرمنال 3.
