تنطلق هذه الدراسة من التاريخ الحضاري للثقافة العربية الإسلامية في العصر العباسي، بمعنى أن أصول الظاهرة المبحوثة / الإبداع الفني شعر الغناء، موسيقى / يشكل التاريخ رافعته الأولى، من حيث التكوين والتحليل، فيما يكون الإستطراد الوصفي لهذه الظواهر، هو أحد المؤشرات الجدلية، التي تدعم وجهة نظر البحث من الزاوية "الأنثربولوجية" والساسيولوجية أيضاً، ناهيك عما يكشفه البحث من إستعراض لأوجه الثقافة العربية - الإسلامية - في العصر الوسيط، بمختلف تياراته الفكرية والسياسية، وهو الأمر الذي يكشف بأن حالة الصراع الإجتماعي آنذاك، كانت من أبرز عوامل التقدم والصعود في الأفق الحضاري، نظراً لوجود الإختلاف والتمايز في الوحدة الإجتماعية في العصر العباسي، حيث إن التيارات الإسلامية كانت تتبارى في ساحة الفكر والفن، لإثبات الجدارة والتفرد في الخصوصية، كالمعتزلة والأشاعرة والصوفية والسنّة والشيعة والإسماعيلية والقرمطية، وغيرها من بقية المذاهب والفرق.
