Book Description
فدخل الآذن (الحاجب) على الملك (دبشليم) في وقته، وقال: بالباب رجل من البراهمة يقال له "بيدبا" ذكر أنه معه للملك نصيحه، فأذن له، فدخل ووقف بين يديه كفر(أي طأطأ رأسه تعظيما له) وسكت، فكر دبشليم في سكوت الفليسوف، وقال: إن الحكماء أغنياء عن الملوك بالعلم، وليس الملوك بأغنياء عن الحكماء بالمال، وقد وجدت العلم والحياة إلفين متآلفين لا يفترقان، ومتى فقد أحدهما لم يوجد الآخر، ومن لم يستح الحكماء ويكرمهم وبعرف فضلهم، ويصنهم من مواقف الذلة، كان ممن حرم عقلة، وخسر دنياه، وظلم الحكماء حقوقهم، وعد من الجهال.
ترى ماذا كانت نصيحة الفلسيوف بيدبا للملك؟
إن ابن المقفع صاحب كليلة ودمنة قد نبهنا إلى ما يرمي إليه مؤلفة بقولة:" وقد ينبغي للناظر في كتابنا هذا ألا تكون غايتة التصفح لتزوايقة، بل يشرف على ما يتضمن من الأمثال حتى ينتهي منه ويقف عند كل مثل وكلمة ويعمل فيها رؤيتة" كما نبهنا أيضا:" من قرأ هذا الكتاب ولم يفهم ما فيه، ولم يعلم غرضة ظاهراً وباطناً لم ينتفع بما بدا له من خطه ونقشه".
